Minnesota Hand Harvested Natural Lake Wild Rice
This is Minnesota Wild Rice grown and harvested in the traditional Native American way. To minimize damage to the crop a canoe is poled through a natural rice bed in a river or lake by one person while another person uses sticks to knock rice kernels into the canoe. Much of the rice lands back in the water to become seed for future crops. When the canoe is full, the harvested rice is processed. Processing removes the husk and reduces the moisture content. The result is a wonderful natural product that can be used in many healthy recipes. One pound of Minnesota wild rice yields about 4 Cups or 24 servings 7.50 lb.
